Central Marking Equipment Corp. Syracuse NY has been providing our customers with high-quality custom rubber stamps, self-inking stamps, pre-inked stamps and marking products for nearly 40 years when stamps were made from molded rubber. Today all of our stamps are produced digitally, using laser-engraving technology. Laser engraving provides sharp, clean images as well as very quick turn around time. Additionally, we are still using rubber for our hand stamps and pre-inked stamps, as opposed to a polymer, which won't provide as many impressions as rubber will. Polymer is also less versatile in terms of the types of inks with which the dies can be used.
While the introduction of laser engraving equipment allowed us to update the rubber stamp manufacturing process, it also has allowed us to offer additional personalized gifts and awards to our customized products list. From plaques to name plates to picture frames, we can custom engrave your message, name, picture or logo on an infinite list of glass, plastic, or wood materials. If you need a unique, personalized item as a birthday gift, business gift, corporate award, contact us.

Central Marking Equipment Corp. was founded in July 1969. Three men who had been working in the printing plate / rubber stamp business had become weary of working for large, faceless corporations after their original, local employer had transferred owners several times in a short period.
They rented space and purchased fifteen typefaces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typefaces), a vulcanizer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulcanization), and a Ludlow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludlow_Typograph) for use in making stamps and some printing plates. This was a very labor-intensive, dirty and dangerous process that required no less than an hour to make a stamp. And that was the process until the first laser was purchased in 1995. From then we have been using lasers to burn away the non-printing areas on a sheet of rubber. Today we can make a stamp in as little as five minutes.
Forty years after Central Marking was started we are still an independent business making rubber stamps by hand. While the images are created digitally, by computer, they are still assembled using the skill and experience we have acquired since 1969.
